Yanqul Camel Festival
The First “Shinas Heritage Festival”

In a translation of its ongoing commitment to support events preserving and promoting the Omani culture, and traditional heritage, BankDhofar has recently sponsored two heritage events, the “Yanqul Camel Festival”, and the first “Shinas Heritage Festival”.

Both festivals were held during the period 6 to 7 May and included several activities that highlighted the wealth of the Sultanate’s heritage and culture, including camel race, among other activities. The festivals attracted a large number of participants and brought together fans of this traditional sport across the region.

Commenting BankDhofar’s sponsorship, Aziz Sulaiman Al Harrasi, Acting Head of Marketing & Corporate Communications at BankDhofar said: “Supporting these cultural festivals falls within our responsibility to contribute in preserving our rich Omani culture and traditions. As we all know that camel races, which are one of the most popular traditional sports, with fans across the Sultanate. We are honored to take part in and sponsor the “Yanqul Camel Festival”, and the first “Shinas Heritage Festival”. Both festivals promote the rich cultural heritage of the country.”
